Michael Gene Canova passed away on November 11, 2011 in Austin, Texas. He was born on April 17, 1948 in Bad Neu Heim, Germany to the late Leo Leon Canova and Eva Olga (Yancy) Canova.

Michael was in the U. S. Navy and served in Vietnam.

He was a faithful Mason for over 30 years. Michael also served as a Scout Master while in Germany for 6 years.

He was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, David T. Bixler.

Michael is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Cathy McDaniel Canova of Killeen, TX, one son, Michael Gene Canova Jr. and his wife Lori of Cedar Creek, TX, one daughter, Chastity Lynn Canova of Phoenix, AZ, and one very special granddaughter, Cymantha Lynn Casteen also of Phoenix, AZ.

He also leaves to cherish his memories, a brother, Leo Leon Canova Jr. and his wife Beth of Moscow, PA. Two sisters; Judith Anne Canova Bixler of Canadensis, PA and Mary Adelith Canova of Killeen, TX.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 18, 2011 in the chapel of Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Killeen.

In lieu of flowers the Canova family ask that you make a memorial contribution in the name of Michael G. Canova to the Masonic Children and Family Services of Texas 338 Grapevine Hwy, Hurst Texas 76054.
