Violet May Smart

Violet May Smart, 90, died Wednesday, July 4, 1990, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wichita.

She was born April 7, 1900, in Stafford County, the daughter of Frederick and Mary Sims Volker. A graduate of the University of Kansas, Lawrence, and a resident of Stafford most of her life, she was a homemaker.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Vashti Chapter No. 64, Order of the Eastern Star, both of Stafford.

On Nov. 28, 1923, she married Arville Smart at Hutchinson. He died Dec. 23, 1964.

Survivors include: several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Peacock-Milton Chapel, Stafford, with Rev. Cheryl Peters officiating. Burial was in Stafford Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to the First United Methodist Church or to the donor's choice, both in care of the funeral chapel or the church.
