Serena married William John Crowther. Together they raised four children. Three daughters and one son. Lorena May Crowther, Ellen Janet Crowther, Virgil William Crowther, Bertha Zetell Crowther
They made their home in Ft. Green. They had a family farm raising animals and mainly sheep.
Serena's only son died at age eleven of pneumonia in the month of October 1908. At this time her husband William John was sick with a cold. William John was very close to their son Virgil and his death was very difficult on him. On December 9th 1908 less than two months after the death of her son Serena lost her husband William John. Serena remained in Ft. Green where she finished living out the remainder of her life.
