Corlys Luvern, son of Lewis and Caroline, was born Febuary 5,1915 on a farm south of Fertile and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the India-Burma-China Theater from 1941 to 1945. After World War II he returned to Fertile to make his home. He worked for the Worth County Maintenance Department and was then employed by Winnebago Industries at Forest City for 15 years, retiring in 1983. He was engaged to be married to Thelma Trustem when he died suddenly on Febuary 2,1989.
