Tressie B. Russell
Tressie Ballard Russell, 88, of 883 Shadeland Drive, Danville, died Saturday at Fellowship Home in Danville after an illness. Born Aug. 11, 1900, in Garrard County, she was the daughter of the late Pal and Drucella Nunn Ballard. She was the widow of Curtis Russell. She was a retired salesperson for Stanley Home Products Division and a member of First Baptist Church on Broadway. She was the recipient of the Boyle County Senior Citizens Award for 1988 at the Boyle County Fair. Survivors include a grandson, Mark Cross of Danville, and a great-grandson. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Odis Clark. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Danville-Boyle County Rescue Squad.
