Mrs. Alfred (Leora B. Aeberhard, 78, Monticello, died Saturday, May 4, at St. Clare Hospital, Monroe, where she had last been admitted on April 22. She had been in failing health the past several months. She was born in Washington Township, Green County, on April 21, 1907, the daughter of Ernest and Rose L. (Wittenwyler) Cotherman. She attended Simmons Rural School and Monticello High School.
Her marriage to Alfred C. Aeberhard took place on April 30, 1934, in Rockford. She had been employed by the Singer Sewing Company in Freeport prior to her marriage. She had since been a Monticello resident.
Services were held today, Wednesday, in Zwingli United Church of Christ, where she was a member. Rev. Don Nelson, interim pastor officiated and burial was in Highland Cemetery, Monticello.
Survivors include her husband, Alfred; a son, Alfred E., Monticello; two sisters. Mrs. Edwin (Florence) Theiler, Clarno, and Rose Cotherman, Monroe, and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Feb. 25. 1957; her mother, Sept. 23, 1971; two brothers, Thomas T., Aug. 30. 1966, and John, Sept. 16, 1965, and one sister, Mrs. Edward (Myrtle) Wyss. April 26, 1973.
Pallbearers were three grandsons, Thomas and John Aeberhard, Monticello, and Michael Aeberhardt, New Glarus; and three nephews, Eugene Theiler, Milwaukee, Thomas Theiler, Juda, and John R. Cotherman, Monroe.
