Mrs. Catherine Brown passed away at her home Tuesday night about 12 o'clock, at the age of sixty-six years. Mrs. Brown had been troubled with her heart for eight years, at times being very near death, but each time until now eluding the grim messenger.

She is survived by her husband Peter Brown and eight children, Adelbert, Nellie, Ida, Ada, Henry, Ross, Laura, Lewis; three brothers; Losson Shoop, Jeremiah Shoop, Hymen Shoop & one sister; Ada (Shoop) Allen.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Jacob Shoop & Catherine (Smice) Shoop & siblings:
Charley Shoop, John Shoop, Nancy Shoop, Ida (Shoop) Connely & Anna Shoop.

The funeral will be held from the home Thursday afternoon and owing to quarantine regulations, will be private, only members of the immediate family attending.

Quarantine was due to the 1918 Pandemic Spanish Influenza virus, lasting from January 1918 to December 1920, it infected 500 million people – about a quarter of the world's population at the time.

Interment will be made in the Maxwell cemetery.
