Funeral services for Robert Kenneth Hyde, age 69, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 30, 2012 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Jack Robbins, Rev. Fred Lewis and Heath Hyde officiating. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery with Wayne Galyean, John Folmar, Tommy Johnston, Johnny Motes, Joe Wayne Anderson, Bob Cody, Randy Hall and Johnny Dobson serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 29, 2012 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Kenneth passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler. Kenneth was born on March 3, 1943 in Sulphur Springs, Texas the son of Robert Lee and Marie (Clifton) Hyde. He married Sharolette Enix on December 22, 1962 at Union Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs. She survives. Kenneth was a dairy farmer and an educator for over 40 years. He is a past recipient of the FFA Star lone Star Farmer award and past winner at the State Hay Show. He was a member of the Dairy Festival Board for many years. He began his teaching career as head of the science department at Sulphur Springs High School and retired as a science consultant with Region VIII Service Center in Mt. Pleasant. During retirement he taught classes for Paris Junior College. Kenneth was a member of First Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for over 50 years. Kenneth was a coach involved in Hopkins County Boy's Baseball for many years where he also served as a commissioner and past president. He was an avid supporter of the Sulphur Springs Wildcats and served as past president of the Booster Club. In addition to his wife Sharolette he is survived by one son, Heath Hyde and wife Kristi and one daughter, Dustanna Hyde Rabe and husband Jason all of Sulphur Springs, two grandchildren, Reese Rabe and Hayden Hyde.
