Donna was born on July 21, 1927 in St. Cloud, MN to Walter and Gertrude Wenck, she spent the majority of her life in Minneapolis, MN before moving to Albuquerque, NM in 2003 to be closer to her daughters, Jean and Nancy.
A student at the University of Minnesota she went on to become a trailblazing computer programmer and businesswoman. Donna was active in the Junior Chamber of Commerce, Meals on Wheels, and while living in Albuquerque, NM, joined the Bear Canyon Senior Center, the Newcomers Club, and the Oso Park Condo Association.
Donna was an avid bridge player and enjoyed playing mah jongg and continued her adventures through trips throughout the United States and abroad.
Donna was dearly loved by her family and many friends. Donna will be forever remembered for the glint in her eye before lighting up the room with her sense of humor and sharp mind.
Donna was a cherished mother, sister, "Oma", and friend.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Gertrude (Scheidemantel), her sister, Ramona (Gibel) and daughters, Janis Griffin, Joan Doran and Jean Kraus.
Donna is survived by her daughter, Nancy Cooper and her husband, Charles Castillo of Albuquerque, NM, son, Kelly Doran of Minneapolis, MN and grandchildren, Alex and Julia Kraus, Evan, Kramer and Sydney Doran and Alexandra Ginter.
A visitation wake will be held on March 31, 2012 from 3:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at French Funeral Home at 10500 Lomas Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM. Funeral services will be held in Minneapolis on April 12, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Lakewood Cemetery Chapel followed by internment at Lakewood Cemetery, 3600 Hennepin Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN.
