Jeanette Betty Eslinger, 89, a resident of the Hamilton Care Center, Two Rivers, formerly of 416 Park Lane, Mishicot, died Sunday evening, March 25, 2012 at the Hamilton Care Center.

Jeanette was born Feb. 3, 1923, in Denmark, Wis., a daughter of the late William and Caroline (Krynes) Hansen. She attended Denmark Public Schools and was a 1941 honor graduate of Denmark High School. She was employed at the Cash Way Store in Denmark until 1946, when she married Edward Basken. He preceded her in death on June 11, 1962. On April 24, 1965, she married Lester Eslinger at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Denmark. He also preceded her in death on June 26, 1992. Jeanette farmed for many years with both of her husbands in the Glenmore and Mishicot areas; she was a longtime member of the Dorcas Society of St. John's Lutheran Church in Two Creeks; longtime member of the VFW Auxiliary; member of several card clubs; and enjoyed baking and volunteering at the Washington House in Two Rivers.

Survivors include one daughter, Carol Van Price, Arizona; one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Anne Basken, Orion, Ill.; one stepdaughter and son-in-law, Carol and Paul Schwahn, Menchalville; a stepson, Ralph Eslinger, and a stepdaughter-in-law, Patty Eslinger, Mishicot; her grandchildren include, Nathan (Robyn) Basken, Chris (Sarah) Basken, Joel Basken, Amy (Doug) Samens, Julie (Joe) Neuser, Sarah (Jim) Neuser, Katie (Jason) Baroun, Weston Eslinger, and Lindsay Eslinger; her great-grandchildren, Laney, Alyssa, and Ariannah Neuser, Russell Baroun, Summer and William Samens, and Evelyn and Taylor Basken. She is further survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Irene and Delmar Horstman, Eugene Eslinger, and Marlene Eslinger. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by two step sons, Jerry and Mike Eslinger, and a stepson-in-law, Russell Slager; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Irene and Henry Skaleski, Ruth and Ralph Pittner, and Elsie and Leo Krutz; and by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lorina, Ray, Carol, and Eddie Eslinger; Leonard and Dorothy Reindl; Laura and Walter Lemke; and Elna and Alfred Kiekhaefer.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 2, 2012, at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Two Creeks. The Rev. Don Frelitz will officiate at the service, with burial to follow in West Danish Cemetery, Denmark.
