DR. FRANK B. PERDUE
Funeral services were conducted for Dr. Frank Bondurant Perdue, 68, 117 E. Street, Davis, Calif., Thursday, August 18, at 10 a.m. at the McNary funeral home, Woodlawn, Calif. A graveside service was conducted by members of Athens Lodge A. F. & A. M., and the American Legion. Interment was at Woodlawn cemetery. Dr. Perdue died Sunday Aug. 14, at Woodland Clinic hospital where he had been admitted earlier that day suffering from a heart attack.
A native of Bondurant, Iowa, he was the husband of Olive Washburn Perdue of Davis. Dr. Perdue was graduated from the Chicago Veterinary college of Chicago, Ill. in 1915. He practiced in Russell, Iowa for 11 years. He spent the next 20 years at John Morrell and Co., Ottumwa, Iowa, as United States Veterinary inspector.
He was the son of Fannie Bondurant Perdue and Samuel Combs Perdue.
Settling in Davis, Calif. 10 years ago, Dr. Perdue served the United States government as veterinary inspector at Dixon for five years. He retired in 1950. During World War I, Dr. Perdue served as a lieutenant in the veterinary corps of the U. S. army.
He was commander of the American Legion Post at Russell and also served as county commander. He was a past master of the Masonic Lodge A. F. & A. M. in Russell and was a member of the Athens Lodge No. 228 A. F. & A. M. in Davis. When he passed away he was serving Ionia Chapter No. 199 Order of Eastern Star as associate patron.
Dr. Perdue is survived by his wife, Olive, a son, James Washburn Perdue and wife, Verna of Woodland, Calif., two brothers, Dr. H. S. Perdue of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Dr. W. P. Ward of Temple, Texas, two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Bailie of Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Margaret Aylor of Merriam, Kansas.
