Obit from The Meridian Star, April 1, 2012: Services for George H. Booker will be held today at 2 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, with the Rev. Albert McMullen officiating. Burial will be in Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Booker, 78, of Meridian, died Thursday, March 29, 2012, in Tuscaloosa, Ala. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Booker worked for Georgia Pacific for 33 years. He was a longtime member of Hebron Baptist Church. Mr. Booker enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and listening to bluegrass music. He always missed his late wife, Mamie, and is now reunited with her in heaven.
He is survived by sons, George "Mike" Booker of Tuscaloosa and Sammy "Steve" Booker of Bentonia; grandchildren, Colby Booker and Chasity Booker Lane; great-grandchildren, Bryce and Logan Lane; and a brother, Johnny Booker of Meridian.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mamie Harper Booker; a son, Gregory Mark Booker; and a brother, Edsel Booker.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Harper, Charles Harper, Harold Harper, Gary Harper, Dale Creel and David Booker.
Visitation will be 30 minutes before services at the funeral home.
