"Germond Gott, a Farmer, Takes His Life by Hanging -- Germond Gott, who resided about a mile north of East Worcester, committed suicide Wednesday morning, by hanging. The deceased was about seventy-eight years of age and no cause is given for his rash act. Mrs. Gott discovered her husband's body at the barn, where he had gone to do his farm work. He was formerly in business in East Worcester, and at one time was considered in a comfortable condition financially. He had, however, been a loser in some financial matters and this may account for the condition of mind that led to the rash act. He is survived by a wife, one son, one daughter, and one sister." [The Otsego Farmer (Cooperstown, NY), Fri., May 24, 1907, Vol. XXI. No. 24]
