He was born Aug. 7, 1928, in Defiance, the son of Clayton and Gaynelle (Hunter) Grogg. In 1952, he married Mary "Jo" Leifer, who survives. He was the co-owner of Grogg Service Station and had previously owned the Leslie Dress Shop. He was a past member of the Lions club and a former PTA president of Slocum Elementary School. He also was a life member of Elks Lodge 147 and Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church of Defiance.
Also surviving are a daughter, Leslie (Randy) King, Defiance; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Jan. 20 at Riverside Cemetery, with Rev. Gary Bernath officiating. There will be no visitation.
