Born on the family farm in Gibson.


Alma (Loeh) Pautz, 93, passed away Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at a local hospital. She was born on Feb. 9, 1916, to Henry Loeh and his wife, Christina (Klindt) Loeh in the Town of Gibson, Manitowoc County, Wis. She was made a child of God through Holy Baptism on Feb. 12, 1916. Alma was confirmed on Sept. 2, 1929, at St. John's Lutheran Church of Gibson. Her confirmation memory verse was Psalm 37-verse 5. "Commit Thy Way Unto the Lord; Trust Also in Him; And He shall bring it to pass." On June 3, 1936, Alma was united in marriage to Leonard William Pautz at St. John's Lutheran Church by Rev. Paul Kionka. Six children were born to this union. They bought the Pautz Homestead in 1941 in the town of Gibson and farmed there for 50 years.

Alma enjoyed being a housewife, a mother, and being a help mate to her husband on the farm. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her hearts delight. She loved her baking and cooking, gardening, flowers, sewing, making quilts, crocheting and embroidery. They were members of St. John's Lutheran Church of Maribel, Wis. During their marriage of 55 years, Leonard passed away in 1991.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Robert and Sherri Pautz, Manitowoc; Richard and Jan Pautz, Menomonee Falls; Ronald and Jessie Pautz, Manitowoc; Nancy and Joe Shore, Wisconsin Rapids; Marilyn and Michael Kronforst, Larrabee; and Leonard William, Jr. and Julie Pautz, Saukville; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mildred Loeh; and one brother-in-law, Henry Pautz.

Alma was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; one infant granddaughter; infants twin grandsons; parents, Henry and Christina Loeh; four brothers, Norman, Henry, Ervin and Alvin Loeh; and her in-laws, Henry and Mathilda Pautz; eight sisters-in-law; and five brothers-in-law.

Family and friends may call Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Maribel. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at church, with the Rev. Daniel Cole officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home, Denmark, is handling arrangements, 863-2411.
