MOUNT VERNON: R. Dean Meeks, 85, of Eastgate Drive died Friday, March 30, 2012 at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon.

He was born Nov. 26, 1926 in Coshocton County to the late Burl H. and Lola Creta (Hoberg) Meeks.

He was retired from the Ludlow Corp. in Mount Vernon after 40 years of service. He was a member of the Warsaw Presbyterian Church. Dean was a long time member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, and Aladdin Shrine. He was a 1944 graduate of Warsaw High School. Dean was a very kind person and respected all people.

He is survived by a special friend, Lucille Cooper of Mount Vernon.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the FISCHER FUNERAL HOME in DANVILLE with Minister Victor Slutz officiating. Burial will be in the Tiverton Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. A Masonic memorial service will also be held prior to the service on Tuesday.
