Final rites for Mrs. Matilda Sabrsula, 73, of Freeport, were held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Needville Presbyterian Church, with Rev. John P. Dany assisted by Rev. Kenneth Book of Freeport officiating.
Mrs. Sabrsula passed away in the Hermann Hospital in Houston on August 10 from injuries received in a two-car collision near Freeport. She was born in Seymour March 10, 1887. In 1907, she was married to John Sabrsula at La Grange and moved to Fort Bend County in 1911. The past twenty years, they have resided in Freeport.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Alma Foss of Palacios, Mrs. Della Hejl, and Mrs. Esther Bettin of Rosenberg, Mrs. Alvina Grigar of Freeport; one son, Ernest of Clute; two brothers, Frank Kovar of Seymour and Paul Kovar of Smithville; one half-sister, Mrs. Josie Matocha of Muldoon; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were John Palmer, Joe Alexander, Clifford Foss, Alvin Sabrsula, Ruben Sabrsula, and Albert Chumchal.
Interment was made in the Needville Public Cemetery under the direction of Triska Funeral Home.
