Carrie was the second of five children born to Dwight Leonard and Emily (Ingersoll) Chapman.

** Headstone photos include Edward's first two spouses and his son from his first marriage. Carrie's headstone is the blank space between Edward and Grace.

** The Grace Beebe headstone photo is actually the headstone for Edward's third wife, rather than that of Carrie's.

** Following was transcribed by Jon Saunders, findagrave member #47674050:

"The Sabbath Recorder", Vol 107, No 1, p 29, July 8, 1929.

Carrie Ellen Chapman Beebe was born December 27, 1872, at Broughton, Clay County, Kan. Her early childhood was spent on the old homestead taken up by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dwight L. Chapman, who were pioneers in that part of Kansas.

When she was about eight years of age, the family moved to Clay Center in the same county and lived there until 1894. Then her father died and the family moved to Escondido, Calif.

Carrie had one older brother who was accidentally killed while quite young, and three younger brothers, two of whom survive her, being Glen and Clyde Chapman of Riverside. She was enough older to be almost like a mother to these brothers, especially after their mother died in 1916.

She was graduated from the high school in Kansas, and taught school two or three years before coming to California. She confessed faith in Christ and became a member of the Baptist Church while in her early teen years and was a member of this denomination until her marriage. For many years she has been a devoted student of God's Word and believed implicitly in its veracity and authority.

She was married in Santa Ana, Calif., on November 3, 1901, to Edward S. Beebe, with whom she was a loving companion until her untimely death. With him she became a member of the Seventh Day Baptist Church and has been a faithful member of the Riverside congregation for about twenty-seven years.

Though Mrs. Beebe has had no children of her own she has had a true mother's heart and for many months cared for her brother's children, after their mother died, as though they were her own. This loving service will always make itself felt in the lives of these children, and the memory of her loving service as wife, as friend, as foster mother to her brother's children in their time of need, will always be remembered by those whose life she touched so beneficially. In everything she undertook in life she was true and faithful.

Farewell services were held in Preston's Funeral Chapel in Riverside on June 20, in charge of Pastor G. D. Hargis, assisted by Pastor E. S. Ballenger. The body was laid to rest in the family plot at Santa Ana, Calif. G. D. H.

*** Carrie died from an automobile accident on the first day of an extended "motor tour" of the U.S. with her husband after the car hit a bad spot in the highway and flipped over an embankment. The day before she and Edward were caring for her brother, Glen's, 3 mother-less children (Ruth, Harold & Doris) until his return from his honeymoon with his 2nd wife, Helen (Rickard).
