Leonard S. Christensen, 60, 401 36th street, died at a hospital Wednesday after a two-week illness.
Mr. Christensen, who was a clerk for 35 years for the Chicago and Northwestern railroad, was born April 30, 1898 in Sioux City. He was a graduate of Bradley University, Peoria, Ill. He married Louise Cockerill in Sioux City September 24, 1934.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Landmark lodge 103, A.F. & A.M., Sioux City Consistory 5, Abu Bekr Shrine and its foot patrol. In 1934, he was a candidate for the office of city park commissioner.
Surivors besides the widow are a son, Glen of Sioux City; a half-brother, Clarence Thomsen of Sioux City; his mother, Mrs. Marie Thomsen, and a sister Miss Ella Christensen, all of Sioux City.
The body was taken to Nelson-Berger north side funeral home.
