Shortly after Frances died, her husband Samuel, son Seth, and daughter Lucy (Rose) Nixon and families moved to Wexford County, Michigan. The reason given among descendants was because her son Seth had tuberculosis and the family wanted to move "north into the pines" because it was felt that the clean air in the pines would help him recover from his tuberculosis. Since Frances died young, one wonders if she also might have also died of tuberulosis prompting the rest of the family to make the trip north.
