Miriam E. Young, 94, of Coatesville, passed away on Monday, August 21st at Hickory House Nursing Home of Honey Brook. She was the beloved wife of the late G. Herbert Young Jr. She was the daughter of the late Edna E. (Burkey) and Elmer E. Clemson. Miriam was an accomplished knitter of afgans, sweaters, baby hats and hats for cancer patients, and socks for soldiers. At one time, she knitted for designer Perry Elles. She was also a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary, helping with fairs at the VA Hospital. Miriam is survived by two sons, G. Herbert Young, III, wife of Ruth, of Coatesville, and Michael Young and wife Bel of Downingtown; four grandchildren, Janine Richards, James Anderson, Ian Young and Ashleigh Kurzweil; five great grandchildren; and two siblings, Marjorie Tinsman of West Goshen and Elmer E. Clemson, III of Michigan. She was predeceased by daughter, Elaine Anderson; and two grandchildren, Debra Anderson and Herbert Young. The Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, August 26th at 11 AM at Bradford Cemetery, Northbrook Rd, Marshallton, PA 19382. Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg.
