Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church at Arkdale this afternoon for Albert Jackson Crothers, 71, a former chairman of the town of Big Flats, who died at 8 p.m. Friday at the Adams County Memorial Hospital following a lingering illness.
The Rev. John Alver officiated and burial is to be in Mount Repose Cemetery.
Mr. Crothers served on the Adams County board of supervisors for a number of years. He was a retired employe of Nekoosa-Edwards Paper Co.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Crothers was born March 4, 1890 in Browntown, Wis., and was married to the former LaVinnie Austin at Arkdale on Oct. 23, 1909.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Vernon, Wisconsin Rapids; a sister, Mrs. (can't read) Peterson, Friendship; two granddaughters and two great grandchildren. Two children, six sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
