EDNA A. (ARNOLD) BAILEY, 82, of North Main Street, Slatersville, a former head cook, died Tuesday in Overlook Nursing Home, Pascoag.

She was the wife of Herbert N. Bailey. Mr. and Mrs. Bailey were married for 62 years. Born in Burrillville, she was a daughter of the late Edwin S. and Martha A. (Helm) Arnold.

Mrs. Bailey was head cook for the North Smithfield school system, retiring in 1977 after 23 years. She was also employed as a secretary in the payroll department of Stillwater Worsted Mills, Harrisville, for three years.

She was a member of Slatersville Congregational Church and the Royal Travelers.

Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Arnold C. Bailey of Slatersville and Dean A. Bailey of Westerly; a sister, Mildred A. Anderson of Slatersville; and four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will be in Slatersville Cemetery, North Smithfield.
