Francis Joseph Cain was born at Republican City, Nebr., Sept. 13, 1889, and passed away following an illness of short duration at the St. Francis hospital, Grand Island, Dec. 20, 1945, at the age of 56 years, three months and five days. He lived in Harlan County until five years ago when he moved to Ord, Nebr. where he lived for two years and then moved to Spalding where he has lived for the past three years. He was united in marriage on June 23, 1915, to Frances M. Carroll of Alma, Nebr. To this union two sons, Leo and Daniel, who preceded him in death in 1935, three daughters, Margaret, Eleanor and Frances were born. On January 27, 1924, Frances Carroll Cain passed away. On April 21, 1926, he was married to Mary J. Willy of Orleans. To this union six sons: Francis J. Jr., William, Robert, Gerald, James, Ronald and one daughter, Alice Elaine were born.**

Out of town relatives attending the funeral included: Dr. and Mrs. Charles D. Harm, Lincoln, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Kittle, Jr., Lubbock, TX, Francis J. Cain, Jr., San Francisco, CA, Vincent Cain, Wilbur, NE, Anthony Cain of Milwaukee, WI and Gussie Cain Burbach of Almena, KS

He is survived by his wife, Mary and children and also survived by two brothers, Vincent and Anthony; two sisters, Gussie Burbach and Mother M. Zita of Springfield, IL.

Grandpa died at 6:30 a.m. at St. Francis Hospital of a brain hemorrhage due to arteriosclerosis.

**Francis & Mary also had a daughter that lived only briefly. Their son Bill believed her name was Lorayne Susan. She is buried next to her Dad.
