Howard C. Ambercrombie, retired U.S. Navy, 90, of North Las Vegas, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2004. He was born Jan. 9, 1914, in Walsenburg, Colo., and was a resident of North Las Vegas for eight years. Howard was a retired U.S. Navy chief warrant officer W4 and served in World War II. Howard is survived by his wife, Marie C. Abercrombie; daughters, Joan (Phil) Miller of Las Vegas and Nancy (Jeremy Giddens) Ambercrombie of El Ceritos, Calif.; brother, Orvil Jones of Lake Isabella, Calif.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be held form 10 a.m.-noon Friday, May 21, at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will be held at 1:20 p.m. Friday, May 21, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Palm Mortuary-Downtown.
