She is survived by five children, Patricia and Russ Carter, of Unionville, MO; Linda and George Otwell, of Statham, Ga.; Sandra "Sandy" Holcomb, of Alpharetta, Ga.; W. Ray and Betty Edwards, Jr., of Bogart, Ga. and Nancy Edwards of Destin, FL; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and her friends at St. Mary's Highland Hills Health Care Center.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and twelve siblings. Mrs. Edwards was born in Odenville, Alabama on November 14, 1920 to Rhoda Hodge Pilkington McGuire and John Henry McGuire.
She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church (Gresham Park) and Rockbridge Baptist Church in Norcross,GA. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Winnie, over the years and became a devoted fan of the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta Flames Hockey Team. Her greatest joy in life was being a wife, mother, grandmother and loyal friend. Mrs. Edwards will be missed by her devoted family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 2, 2012 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel. A Graveside Service will be held after the visitation, at 2 p.m. at Gwinnett Memorial Park in Lawrenceville, GA. with Rev. Jerry Meredith officiating.
