Mr. Brawley was born in Austin and had lived in the Azle area for 14 years. He had attended Azle schools, where he participated in sports. He worked as a waiter at Montana Restaurant in Weatherford.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Michael Brawley and "Dee Dee" Brawley, and his grandfathers, James W. Brawley and James T. Newkirk.
Survivors: Sister, Erica M. Brawley of Weatherford; grandmothers, Shirley J. Brawley and Harriet Newkirk, both of Azle; aunts, Rhonda Walker of Arlington, Pat Elam of Azle and Linda McHale of Denver, Colo.; and a large extended family, including Gilda and Keith Brawley, who cared for Jason after the death of his parents.
