The stroke of paralysis, with which this good woman was seized several weeks ago, terminated in death on Saturday, May 4, 1901. Isabel Catharine Williams was born June 16, 1847, in Devonshire, England. In 1851 she came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Williams, and a large family of brothers and sisters, and settled in the suburb of this city known as Barreltown, where she grew to womanhood. May 9th, 1867, she became the wife of Mr. Jos. Jackson. Eleven children were born to them, 8 daughters and three sons. One son died in boyhood; all the others, with their father, survive and have the memory of a devoted mother and wife to cherish.
Deceased embraced Christianity in 1865, then joined the Primitive Methodist Church, and continued a member thereof until death.
The large family, including several sisters and other relatives, formed a long procession of mourners at the funeral, which was held from the residence in the city on Monday afternoon, under direction of Rev. John Hardcastle, pastor of the church in which she had so long been a faithful member.
