Marine Corps Pfc. Christopher R. Cobb, 19, of Bradenton, Fla.; assigned to 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.; was killed April 6 by hostile fire in Anbar province, Iraq.

Born in Sarasota, January 1, 1985, he was a lifelong resident of Manatee County, Fl. He attended Bradenton Gospel Tabernacle.

He was a 2003 graduate of Bayshore High School, where he played violin in the school orchestra.

Following graduation in the spring, he went to boot camp at Parris Island, S.C., then to infantry training in the fall at Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Chris Cobb is remembered as a shy, fun-loving teenager who spent hours playing on the computer, enjoyed alternative rock and talked about a career in the Marine Corps.

He was a member of American Legion Oneco Post 312.
