She attended Illinois Teacher's College, received her teaching certificate and began teaching near Chicago where she married Chester R. Dreher on Feb. 21, 1947.
They later moved to Beach, N.D., and adopted a son, David A. Dreher. The family moved to Helena in 1958 and lived here since, other than a four year stint in Missoula. Willie finished her bachelor's degree in elementary education while the family was there. She was a longtime teacher in Helena with an extended tenure at Kessler Elementary School.
She's survived by her husband, Chet; son Dave and his wife, Gail, all of Helena; grandchildren, Michelle Dreher-Weishaar and husband, Mark, Ryan Dreher, Dave Dreher, and great-grandson, Jace Weishaar, all of Bismarck, N.D.; step-grandchildren, Joel Pilcher and wife, Tammy, Jena Anderson (Pilcher) and husband, Clint, great-grandchildren, Kayla, Logan and Lane Pilcher and Brady Anderson, and Clint's children, Cody and McKenzie Anderson, all of Helena. Willie took great pride in all the lives she touched as a teacher.
