Local news, week of June 1, 1899: "At about 2 o'clock Tuesday morning, burglars attempted to enter the residence of Dr. George C. Hafford at 209 Irwin Avenue. Mrs. Hafford saw men at the window and aroused the Doctor, but he thought that probably that men unfamiliar with the house had come to call him for professional services, and arising quickly he could see two men on the front porch. He dressed and went to the door, where he could hear the men whispering. When he opened the door both men fled so quickly that he could get very little idea of their appearance. They did not return, and in the morning, a long pole with grab book was found on the premises."

His wife the former Miss Coralynn (Ulsaver) Hafford had one daughter Coralynn (Hafford) Goodrich, she was born 21 Oct 1895; died 11 Aug 1928.

They also had two boys, first one Dr. Alpheus Tisdale born 10 July 1889, died 23 Apr 1947, second Clinton Stephen, born 16 Dec 1890, died 30 Sept 1982, all these children were Haffords'.

George is a Past Commander of the American Legion; Patrick Leo Hanlon Post No.55 for the years of 1920,& 1921.

I am not a family member of Dr. Hafford; but he had delivered three of my mother's family, Dorothy T.1904, Goldie F.1909 (my mother), Fred E. Howard 1911. Howard's all; and all born in Albion. Without him I may not be on planet Earth.

Information gotten from Goldie F.(Howard) Anderson, George F. Howard memories and a booklet named Albion's Milestones and Memories, published for the Three-Quarters-Century Club, Albion Chapter, printed 1932; see page 93.
