wife of Benjamin Chew, 3rd, was the only child of Chief Justice Tilghman, and a great grand-daughter of William Allen, Esq., the immediate predecessor of Benjamin Chew in the office of Chief Justice and great grand-daughter of Tench Francis, Esq., whose successor in the positions of Attorney-General of the Province of Pennsylvania and Recorder of Philadelphia was the same Benjamin Chew.
She was born April 19th 1796 and died June 16th 1817.
