Husband of Mary (Wyatt) Beauchamp.
MARRIED: February 11, 1823, in Grayson Co. KY.

The Beauchamps came to Kentucky in the late 1700's from Delaware and had moved to Delaware from Maryland. The first Beauchamp in America was Edmund Sr. who was the first Clerk of Court in Somerset County, Maryland in the 1660's. Stephen's father was Jeroboam Beauchamp and his grandfather was Costin Beauchamp. It is believed they settled in Washington County. Stephen bought 500 acres of land in Grayson County in 1839, and at about the same time his son,
Granville bought 100 acres.

Stephen was buried in the cemetery on Benjamin Martin's farm. He was visiting Bowling Green, when as a strong Confederate supporter, he got in a fight, and died as a result.
