Mary Ann Abbott, 89, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Methodist Hospital. A memorial visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at McLaren's Chapel with private inurnment at Resthaven Mausoleum.
Mary Ann was born August 10, 1922 in Des Moines, Iowa the daughter of Louis Francis and Anna (Hinz) Clarke.
She was a lifelong resident of Des Moines, a finance clerk for the State Senate for 25 years and a member of Windsor Heights Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her son, Don (Pam) Abbott of Newark, CA; daughter, Sue (Mark) Boley of Maxwell, IA and four grandchildren, Allison (Matt) Riggle of Fountain Valley, CA, Jessica (Adam) Hughes of Santa Monica, CA, Brooke Boley of Roland, IA and Matt Boley of Fort Collins, CO.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. Abbott who died January 9, 1990.
Memorial contributions may be given to the East High School Alumni Foundation or Lutheran Social Services.
