JOSEPH HENRY BUSHEY (The name is spelled different from that on the headstone.)

Taken ill Tuesday morning, leaving work at noon, dying at 11:50 A.M. Wednesday, Henry Bushey's fate is indeed a sad one for a man thirty-three years of age whose appearance told of one in the prime of life. A good citizen, neighbor, friend, and devoted to home and family, his death is indeed a sad blow to the young widow and seven months old boy.

Mr. Bushey was in the employ of the Rhoades store. For months he had complained of severe pains at the base of his skull and death resulted from congestion of the brain and the breaking of a blood vessel. The funeral occurs from the house and then to the M.E. church tomorrow at twelve noon in charge of the Odd Fellows.

Deceased leaves father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Bushey of Vernon, three sisters, Mrs. Albert Mitchell of Beaverton, Mrs. Bert Bowers of Vernon, Mrs. John Waddington of Gilmore, and five brothers, Gilbert, Fred, John, Albert, and Claud of Vernon. The surviving widow was formerly Miss Welds Willis of Isabella and for her and the babe as for the entire family there is expressed in the community much sympathy. (The Clare Sentinel, p. 1 - Clare, MI - 3 January 1908)
