Lowell Ross Smith, age 68, passed away July 1, 1994 at home after a brief battle with cancer.
Born November 20, 1925 in Fillmore, Utah to Lewis Brunson and Eva Ellen Beckstrand Smith. He married Dixie Lowder on May 24, 1962 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Served a mission in Sweden. Graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Owner of DILOK Corporation. Active member of the LDS Church.
Survived by his wife, Dixie; children, Sandra Taylor and husband, Doug, Daren Smith and wife, Ann; Gordon Smith and wife, Frances; Elder Mike Smith, serving an LDS Mission in Sacramento, California; Steven Smith, all of Salt Lake City; four granddaughters; sisters, Melva Anderson, Salt Lake City; DeVone Johnson, Tacoma, Washington; sisters-in-law, Ruth Smith, Ogden, Utah; and Dorothy Smith, Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by a daughter, Sheri Smith, November 19, 1979, and two brothers, Donald and Orvil Smith.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 6, 1994 at 12 noon, in the Edgehill First Ward Chapel, 1750 South 1500 East. Friends may call at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
