daughter of William Kennedy & Amelia Fleming. She was a popular schoolteacher in Oceanside, CA, and later at Warner's Hot Springs. Her brother Bert Kennedy was a well-known jockey at Del Mar.

She married John Chauncey Hayes, Jr 22 DEC 1908 at Oceanside, CA. This marriage did not work and they divorced in 1918.

She married Walter Hamlin Dupee 2 JUN 1919 at Tustin, CA. Walter Hamlin Dupee (1874-1933) famous stock raiser, dairyman, and sportsman heavily involved in polo & horse racing.

Walter was previously married to San Diego socialite Florence Kennett(1876-1971), but they were divorced in 1915. She remained prominent in Coronado and married George Burnham in 1932, who later was elected to Congress.

According to the final coroner's report Isabel killed herself by eating Kellog's Ant Paste in her suite at the Hotel Cortez. Initially newspapers reported her husband was by her side, but later report tell of a call to the hotel operator, a womans screams, and the line going dead. They rushed to her room but could not open it and had to crawl through a window. Initially her death was ruled a heart attack but a tube of the arsenic laced ant poison was found in a trash can and so they retrieved her buried body determined she died of arsenic poisoning. There were questions, but the coroner refused to investigate further.

Walter Hamlin Dupee married Helene M. Kavanaugh six months later in Missoula, Montana, but she filed for divorce less than a year later in 1933. Walter died of of a sudden heart attack a few days later in Hollywood. Interestingly, Helene's previous husband, Jesse Whitehead was found dead from a gunshot to the head in his hotel in San Francisco just three years earllier.
