Dr. Bobbie (Bob) Burnett Griffith died Sunday April 8, 2012. He was 84 years of age.

Bob was born on September 24, 1927 in Robbins, OK near Tahlequah to George Bradford and Mary Elizabeth Sturgis Griffith. He graduated from Bagley High school in Tahlequah in 1945, earned his bachelor's degree in Business Education in 1953 from Northeastern State University, his Masters in Business Education in 1955 from Oklahoma State University and his doctorate in Secondary Business Education in 1962 from the University of Nebraska, He taught business education courses for over 30 years at various universities.

He was a Navy veteran and served as an aircraft mechanic from 1945 to 1948 in World War II and from 1950 to 1952 in the Korean War. Bob served as Prescient, Vice President and as a member of the Board of Directors for the Stillwater Kiwanis Club. He was a member of Delta Pi Epsilon, Pi Omega Pi, Phi Beta Lambda and authored several business publications during his career. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and enjoyed his lifelong hobby of playing golf, working part time at a golf course after his retirement.

Bob is survived by two daughters; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one sister. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, six sisters, one half-brother and one half-sister.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Tahlequah City Cemetery in Tahlequah, OK. Funeral arrangements are under the direction Hart Funeral Home in Tahlequah. (MillieBelle)
