Burial will be in the Ashton Pineview Cemetery under the direction of Valley Mortuary of Ashton. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a memorial fund for Zions Lutheran Church in Ashton.
He was born Feb. 10, 1934, in Uslar, Germany to August Corcilius and Ida Kettler Corcilius. He came to the United States in April of 1953. He became a U.S. citizen in 1955, and farmed in the Greentimber area until 1998, when he retired.
He married Marilyn W. Marotz at the Lutheran Church in Ashton June 10, 1961. He held membership and offices in the National Potato Board, Ashton Seed Growers Association and Potato Growers of Idaho.
Serving as an active participant in the lives of his grandchildren was one of his greatest accomplishments. He enjoyed skiing, and those who had the privilege to ski with him recognized his technical ability and love for the sport. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, socializing with friends, taking care of his immaculate yard and regular visits to the coffee shop. His life blessed many.
He is survived by his wife of Ashton; children, Kathy (Neil) Smith, Gloria (Dave) Graham, Craig (Tali) Marotz, and Scott (Heidi) Marotz; a brother Hermann Corcilius; and 11 grandchildren.
His parents and a brother preceded him in death.
