He married Margaret Masterson on Feb. 18, 1914 at St John the Evangelist Church in Lambertville, Hunterdon Co., New Jersey. The couple had one son, John W. Brahan, Jr. (aka John J. Brahan). He lived in Lambertville for a short time, then moved to 346 Garfield Avenue, Trenton and lived there for the rest of his life.
John was an employee of the Pennsylvania Railroad. When he passed away, he was the head of the Trenton sewage plant.
He was an usher at St. Anthony's Church in Trenton.
