Jerome James "Jay" Franklin, Jr. died October 14th at Mercy Hospital in Sacramento.
He was born in McCloud on March 17, 1944 and was a fourth generation native of California. He had been in construction most of his adult life. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by a daughter and son, James Guy of Napa; his mother, Teresina Franklin of McCloud; his grandmother, Rosa Iaconis of Sacramento, a brother and sister, and 3 granddaughters.
Following cremation a memorial service and burial will be held Friday 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in McCloud
