OSAGE - Norraine Hemann, age 86, of Osage, died Saturday, June 23, 2018, at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 28, 2018, at Sacred Heart Parish Hall in Osage with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Osage. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with a rosary at 4:30 p.m. There will also be visitation at the Sacred Heart Parish Hall one hour prior to the Funeral Mass on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to the family and then they will donate to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
Norraine was born August 13, 1931, in Stacyville, Iowa, the youngest of twelve children, to Erhardt and Amanda (Diedrich) Weisensel. She attended Visitation Catholic School, graduating with the class of 1949. Norraine married Robert W. Hemann on August 24, 1949, at the Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville with her brother, Rev. Lawrence Weisensel officiating at the ceremony. To this union, two daughters were born. The couple lived in the Osage area all of their married life. Norraine worked at various jobs, with the primary one being the secretary/accountant at the Osage Senior High School for 23 years, retiring in 1992. After her retirement, the couple enjoyed going on bus tours, through out the United States and Canada.
Norraine is survived by two daughters, Carol (Wayne) Hansen of Litchfield, Minnesota, and Sandy Hemann of Burnsville, Minnesota; two sisters, Sister Catherine Weisensel at Mount St. Francis in Dubuque, and Adella Attig of Austin, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Hemann in 2002; six brothers and three sisters.
