Mrs. Eunice M. Smith, 77 years old, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C.B. Chance, Ottumwa route 6, at 8 p.m. Friday.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Clara Barritt of Ottumwa and Mrs. Christina Chance, Ottumwa route 6; two sons, Byron Smith of Salix, Ia., and Clarence J. Smith of Chicago, Ill.; one grandson, Claude E. Smith, Ottumwa route 4, who was reared by Mrs. Smith and twelve other grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Britten Galland of Salix, Willis Galland of South Dakota and Lafayette Galland of Greenwood, Wis., three sisters, Dollie Sheets of Salix, Martha Sheets of Ottumwa and Mrs. Carol Stocker of San Bernardino, Calif.
The body was removed to the Johnson funeral chapel. Short funeral services will be held at the Seventh Day Adventist church, at Ransom and Church streets, at 2 o'clock. The Rev. A.L. Miller of Davenport will officiate. Burial will be made in the McIntire cemetery.
