Mrs. Martin Nelson, 75, 417 E. 4th St., died Saturday at 7:30 a.m. at Community Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
The former Agnes Ruth Smaby, she was born July 7, 1992, at Peterson, Minn., to Pete and Mary Iverson Smaby. She was a resident of the Rushford area all her life until moving to Winona in 1963.
She attended Rushford schools and formerly was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Rushford, and was a member of the Rushford American Legion Auxillary.
Survivors are: Two sons, Victor, Winona, and Walter, Valdosta, Ga., a retired master sergeant in the Air Force; a grandson, Roger D. Nelson, Minneapolis, and two granddaughters, Mrs. Charles (Joanne) Brand, Hart, and Mrs. George (Marlene) Gonides, Winona; five great-grandchildren; a brother, James R. Smaby, Onalaska, Wis., and three sisters, Mrs. Martin (Mabel) Myers, Mrs. Frank (Leona) Langkamp and Mrs. Beatrice Deyo, La Crosse.
Her husband died July 16, 1924; a daughter and a brother also have died.
Funeral services will be at 3:45 p.m. Monday at Breitlow Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rushford Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday.
