Caroline "Carrie" Heiar, 94, Prairie du Chien, died Tuesday, June 28, 1994, at the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital. She was bom Sept. 7, 1899, in Springbrook, la., daughter of Mathew and Catherine (Monner) Scheckel. She married Tony Heiar on Oct. 4, 1921, in Springbrook, la. He preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 1960. She was a homemaker and enjoyed playing cards and Yahtzee. She is survived by three sons, Wesley (Violet), Prairie du Chien, Robert (Elaine), Bloom- ington, and Donald (Mary), Middleton; a daughter, Rita (John) Forbes, Hutchison, Minn.; three brothers, Florian, Mathew, and LeRoy Scheckel, all of Springbrook, la; two sis- ters, Claudine Keilhold, Prairie du Chien, and Daisy Clausen, LaMontte, Ia., 23 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers and five sisters. Services will be held Friday, July 1, at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, Prairie du Chien, with Rev. Ron Zinkle S.J. officiating and burial at the Boscobel Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday after 4 p.m. at the Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien, where there will be a rosary service at 4:15 p.m. and 8 p.m.
