BROTHER-IN-LAW OF RECRUITER FOR WACS IS KILLED IN SOUTH PACIFIC
S-Sgt. and Mrs. Robert P. LeMaster returned this morning from Indianapolis, where they visited Mrs. LeMaster's mother during a three day pass after being notified that Mrs. LeMaster's brother, Pfc. Robert Eugene Beard, a combat Marine, had been killed in action in the South Pacific area. Pfc. Beard was a veteran of the battle of Tarawa. Mrs. LeMaster has another brother, Cpl. Carl T. Beard, who is stationed in the Hawaiian Islands with the Army Medical Corps.

S-Sgt. LeMaster is stationed in Harrisburg at present as a recruiter for the WACS with office on the south side of the square.
