Charles S. Munger of Herkimer, ex-postmaster and former well-known newspaper publisher, died Aug. 17th, at his home on N. Main Street, Herkimer at the age of 73. Heart disease was the cause of death.
Mr. Munger was a native of Camden, and was the son of the late Jarius Munger. Before coming to Herkimer in 1885, he was editor and proprietor of the Camden Advance Journal. His newspaper connection in this village were as president of the Citizen Publishing company, owners of the Ilion, Herkimer and Frankfort Citizen's weekly papers, which are no longer in existence.

He was married in 1881 to Hattie A. Rice of Manilus. He is survived by his widow, by a son Henry of South Orange, N.J., by three daughters, Miss Irene Munger, Mrs. William Bechtold of Herkimer and Miss Marjorie Munger of New York. Also one brother, Henry G. Munger of Herkimer and one sister, Mrs. J. E. Masee of Herkimer.
