Mr. Rudolph Eugene Dollison was born in Muncie, IN on December 12, 1930 to the union of Ulysses and Margaret Dollison. He was the second of five children. He grew up in East Saint Louis, iL, and received his education through District #189. Rudolph, better known as Rudy, was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Rudy was united with Leona Brandon on June 4, 1955. One child was born to this union, Erik (Spud) Dollison. He was employed at the United States Department of Agriculture as a Meat and Poultry Inspector until his retirement. Then he was able to do what he really loved, that was to fish. He spent much of his time after retirement at his favorite creek bank "Sammy's". Rudy loved to work with wood, making clocks, shadow boxes and was also an accomplished self taught artist. His favorite scenes to paint were landscapes.
Rudy departed this life on Monday, March 24, 2008 at the Touchette Regional Hospital, Centreville, IL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Dollison; mother, Margaret Dollison; father, Ulysses Dollison; and sister, Gladys (Beaver) Williams. Rudy leaves behind wonderful and cherished memories to his son, Erik (Twana) Dollison; grandchildren, Vaughn (United States Navy), Cherrah (Howard University), Alyssa and Quincy; two sisters, Joyce (Kennendy) Russell and Wilma (Andrew) Prather; one brother, Marvin (Jean) Jackson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
