Charles L. Francis, 82, of Vandalia, IL, died on Monday, April 9, 2012 at St. Louis - John Cochran VA Medical Center in St. Louis, MO.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, April 13, 2012, at Miller Funeral Homes, Vandalia, IL , with Rev. Dean Brown officiating. Burial will follow at McInturff Cemetery, in Rural Vandalia, IL with Military Rites. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Miller Funeral Homes, Vandalia, IL. Memorials: Crawford-Hale Post #95, American Legion and/or V.F.W. both in Vandalia, IL.

Charlie was born on June 14, 1929, in St. Elmo, IL, the son of Adolph E. and Rachel K. (Garrison) Stein Francis. He married Marilyn Loraine Noffsinger on October 28, 1950 in Vandalia, IL. Charlie was affiliated with Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Rural Brownstown, IL and was one of the original founders of Okaw Saddle Club, a member of Crawford-Hale Post #95, American Legion and V.F.W. all in Vandalia, IL. He was a Korean War Army Veteran and Co Owner/Operator of Charlie's Carpet & Upholstery, Vandalia, IL.

He is survived by his Wife, Marilyn Francis of Vandalia, IL; Daughters: Janet Manley & Keith and Nancy McDowell & Alan, both of Vandalia, IL; Sisters: Mary Helen Dotray of Van Buren, AK & Betty Schaub of Vandalia, IL; 4 Grandchildren: Traci, Holly, Travis & Kelly; 4 Step Grandchildren; 5 Great Grandchildren: Devin, Chandler, Bradin, Andrew & Audrey; 9 Step Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, 4 Brothers & 3 Sisters.
