George A. Bascom, Jr., 62, of Exeter NH, died on July 29, 2005, at the Exeter Hospital. He was born in Exeter on Nov. 25, 1942, the son of the late George A. Bascom, Sr., and Alma Poloquin Bascom Sobozenski. George graduated from Dover High School in 1960 and spent 12 years in the US Navy – VP30 & VP21. He worked for many years in the cable TV industry all around the United States. He was Past Commander of the American Legion Post 51 in Epping & District 3 New Hampshire – SAL of Epping, and was a member of the Polish Club of Newmarket NH.

He is survived by his wife of 2½ years, Diane (Bourdon) Bascom of Exeter NH; mother Alma Sobozenski of Exeter NH; daughters, Babs Barton and husband Scott of Florida and Amy Wolodko and husband Darren of Canada; son Tony Bourdon and wife Marie of Deerfield NH; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; brothers David Bascom and wife Jean of Epping NH, Richard Bascom and wife Nancy of Berwick ME, Stephen and wife Linda of Auburn NH, and Paul Sobozenski of Newmarket NH; sisters-in-law Jean Poland and husband Tom of New York, Rose Purington and husband Weymouth of Epping NH, Janet Wilbur of Northwood NH, Carol Rollins of Epping NH, Nancy Martel of Epping NH, and Betty Fortier of Berlin NH; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
